Milan, March 13, 2024 – KYIP Capital, through its fund dedicated to digital transformation, has acquired control of Istituto Volta, one of the leading players in the Italian professional training market, with a turnover of €15 million and an EBITDA margin of 17%. The group offers a wide range of courses, mainly in the IT and Healthcare sectors (constituting around 60% of the revenue), along with specialized technical courses in various fields with regional accreditation.

Kyip Capital enters the professional training sector with the aim of creating a key player in the Italian market, following the establishment of Plena Education in July 2023, the third-largest private group in Italy in the Fine Arts sector with a turnover of €24 million and 4,200 students.

Gianluca Losi, CEO and Founding Partner of KYIP Capital, stated: “We’ve been impressed by the growth path of Istituto Volta over the years, and we look forward to supporting Fabrizio, Alessandro, and their team in further enhancing and sophisticating the educational offerings, entering new educational fields, and expanding into new regions and geographies. Furthermore, by leveraging the experience gained by Kyip over the years in higher education with the establishment, through 7 aggregations, of Plena Education, the third-largest group in Italy in the fine arts sector, we believe there are interesting opportunities to consolidate also the Vocational Training segment and make Istituto Volta one of the key players in Italy”.

Istituto Volta is the third deal for the fund (after Datlas Group and Plena Education) and represents the initial platform that KYIP Capital aims to develop in the professional training sector, an industry that is still extremely fragmented with significant opportunities for improvement. KYIP Capital therefore plans to grow the platform both internally - also thanks to an important strengthening of the educational offer - and externally, through acquisitions of complementary companies as well as through agreements with trade associations and industrial districts.

With about 12,000 active students as of 2023, Istituto Volta has grown at extremely significant rates in recent years (+30% in '20-'23), intercepting a growing demand from students and workers for skills, especially in IT. This growth has been made possible thanks to a scalable business model that combines a fast and lean go-to-market process (i.e. 2 to 6 months from course design to delivery) coupled with a high degree of flexibility in the delivery of the course in various online, in-person & blended modes.

Fabrizio Tittozzi, CEO of Istituto Volta, commented: "We chose KYIP Capital because of their deep experience in the world of education and their ability to understand Istituto Volta's unique business model and potential. We believe they are the ideal partner to support the company on a path of growth both organically and through acquisitions".

Founded in 2010 by the Tittozzi family, Istituto Volta operates on a national scale through its 3 brands (Istituto Volta, Formamente and Pianeta Studio) and its offices in Milan, Rome, Naples and Bari, offering its students one-stop-shop solutions that include training & testing centres, certificate delivery and company placement.
