KIM is an innovative initiative in the Italian investment landscape, designed to support companies that positively contribute to the quality of life for people and society. Classified as Article 9 SFDR fund, KIM focuses on high-growth potential companies in the health and wellbeing sectors, with a focus on health, nutrition, preventive care, and the promotion of healthy and sustainable lifestyles.

With a fundraising target of €60 million by mid-2025, KIM aims to make equity investments– primarily minority stakes – ranging between €3 and €7 million in companies with revenues between €5 million and €50 million. The fund has already garnered the support of Fondo Italiano d’Investimento SGR, of one top-tier Italian family offices, and several well-known Italian entrepreneurs, some of whom have significant experience in the “health and wellbeing” sector.

The fund is led by a dedicated team, headed by partner Eugenio Conforti, who joined Kyip Capital after consolidated experience in strategy consulting, investment banking and private equity. In the coming months, the team will focus on finalising several investments already in the pipeline.

Luciano Hassan, President and Founding Partner of Kyip Capital, commented: “At Kyip Capital, we have always believed that innovation and sustainability are essential elements in value creation. We foresee a natural long-term convergence between so-called traditional and impact strategies in private equity. The first closing of this new fund, with its innovative investment strategy, is fully aligned with our broader vision. We are confident that being among the early movers in this asset class in Italy will yield excellent returns for our investors, while further strengthening our expertise in sustainability and positioning us at the forefront of this sector. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the investors who have shown foresight by committing the resources necessary to launch this new initiative, reflecting the future direction of private equity over the next decade.

Luigi Tommasini, Head of Funds of Funds and Strategic Initiatives di Fondo Italiano d’Investimento SGR, commented: “The fund promoted by Kyip, with Fondo Italiano as cornerstone investor, is a tangible example of how Fondo Italiano, through FOF Impact, is fostering the development of impact investments 1 in Italy by facilitating the emergence of new teams, the launch of new funds, and the attraction of institutional capital towards this type of initiative that combines financial return with social and environmental impact”.

KIM qualifies as a product under Article 9 of the EU SFDR, which recognises financial products engaged in investment strategies aimed at promoting sustainability objectives. The fund’s strategy aims to improve access to healthcare, promote physical and mental wellbeing, and encourage healthy and sustainable lifestyles. It follows the principles of Impact Investing, which is already wellestablished in Anglo-Saxon and Northern European markets, which envisages combining significant financial results with the intentional and measurable achievement of social impact objectives arising from the activities of target companies.
